Who is it for?
Designed for executive directors, senior managers, and others in decision-making positions, the Public Policy Institute coaching program allows leaders to apply learning and receive candid feedback as they actively pursue a policy goal. The coaching mainly focuses on the transfer of skills that have been gained over the years, one policy campaign at a time.
What is covered?
The Public Policy Institute's customized coaching program consists of weekly conferences, thoughtful review of materials, email discussions, and strategy consulting. Participants will design a winning public policy campaign based on their organization's mission and internal capacity.
Suggested organizational development activities might include:
- A series of trainings and briefings of board staff and members outlining how non-profit organizations can participate in the public policymaking process.
- Tried and true techniques for influence public policy and the basic elements of a winning campaign and strategic thinking and doing skills.
- Gaining a better understanding of lobbying restrictions and allowances consistent with IRS guidelines for 501(c)3 organizations.
Organizational leaders are guided through a strategic thinking process to help them measure the political feasibility of their policy idea. From start to finish, they will benefit from one-on-one dialogue, political insight, and step-by-step instruction to help direct a public policy campaign.
