We will facilitate a series for participants on how to access
and interpret formal and informal information sources in the
State House, and how to translate this into political reality
for their organizations. We will connect participants with
a panel of practitioners, who are either current or former
lobbyists, legislative and administrative staff, and members
of the media.
Conversations focus on the day-to-day, week-to-week tactics,
strategies, and practices used by successful lobbyists and
grassroots organizers in the State House's ever-changing political
dynamic.
In addition, participants can learn:
- How to organize issue briefings and format fact sheets
for executive managers and legislators.
- To create collaborative campaigns with nontraditional
partners.
- Techniques for 'translating' their organization's campaign
to key State House players, placing value on productive
relationships.
Selections from Real Clout, The Real Clout Workbook,
and Lobbying on a Shoestring reinforce points from
the sessions.
